The leaker was someone who basically everyone on the team had issues with who was doing a load of his own submod stuff in the main files for several years and changing ♥♥♥♥ from others parts of the project. With him gone one of the old team members who never really left but always kinda rage ghosted for months when he'd find his work changed, has now kinda come back so it's Jeroen and them now plus the side help.
So no the narrative painted by the page is wrong. Even after the collective EAW modding community admonished him nothing has changed on that page.
I think hes referring to the unofficial 5.0 release's description mentioning that the regiment system was removed in favor of using the base games ground combat system where people are able to pick and choose which individual units they want to produce instead of having them deploy in regiments
Interesting. Thanks for the info. The regiments system was an interesting idea but going with an improved single units style definitely seems like the right idea. I guess it will be a surprise for everyone with however it turns out hopefully its an improvement. From the little I played of the buggy mess that is the unofficial 5.0 release the single unit system felt pretty good and a side note (not sure who worked on the imperial LAAT gunship but that thing is beautiful). Not sure if its anything to base what the official release of 5.0 will be like but regardless im looking forward to see what the team comes up with.
