The new economy system is a mess
Hi! Am I the only one who thinks that the new economy system is a pure mess? The planets simply generate way too less of a money than they are supposed to. I am simply unable to maintain fleets when fighting on a beginner Galactic Conquest scenario. The AI will simply outgrow me (how, I have no idea), and they simply keep destroying my fleets ship by ship, and I am unable to replace them, because I have zero money.

Sorry, but this is ridiculous, I am a seasoned Empire at War gamer, and I am unable to play even at the lowest difficulty.

Simply use a large part of your money to upgrade sectors, and capture gas giants. You can also see how much money tax/mining will make, on the right off the screen when zoomed in on a planet.

Also dont forget that large ships have upkeep and losing fighters costs money.
Learning how to build your economy, and doing it first, is necessary to winning. Once you do you shouldn't have issues. For me, the starfighter attrition is the biggest concern. I often pull all my fighters back from the fight and rely on corvettes etc to handle enemy fighters/bombers so I don't drain my credits by losing too many squadrons.

if it not fixed, try: starts battles when you have 0 credits. when fighters dies you will steel have 0 credits
Don't play empire as a player. It won'T get you a good experience in its current state.. Rather, play rebellion or consortium.
As a stubborn imperial player that plays the big big map only Things I do are.
Figure out the quickest way to secure a corner of the galaxy and throw everything you have into it.

get ground economic bonouses built first because as imps we dont have the fleet strength to confront the early game ai's with level 1 tech for long. so your fleets must be the corvette and frigate types.
onces ground econ established ,unless its a major choke point you only build up to level 2 stations because of commerce and trading centers require only this. have ground forces on outer rim territory up in orbit with space fleets your not going to hold those without great cost to the rest of the imperial holdings.better for them to be with their local space militias to consolidate power into mid game and hen use them to help secure your corner

Get leveled up tech wise to rank 2, The fleet selection will turn the tide and enable you to secure holdings, rebel holdouts and the free territories near fondor and south of fonder and wiping out rebel and cis remnants out asap and consolidate that space.

Endor is the most important resource generating planet early game and fondor the most important early game non kuat/ Corusant based shipyard.
The Resorces of the Empire if managed leads to Ultimate power. And beside be it the reapers or the wokista disney empire what ever the ♥♥♥♥♥ the uh zeisten ships or the far outsiders. The galaxy will be yours through the creation of Ships of great fire power and fleets that utilize your heroes.

If you keep the fleets in orbit of an enemy planet, then they do not require upkeep. To be precise, they are upkeeped by the faction that occupies this planet ;)

Thus, you will get more funds and the enemy get less. For example, the upkeep of the Death Star costs 30 or 35k, or the Eclipse - about 20k. If you leave one of them in orbit of an enemy planet, for example, the rebels, then they get 20 or 30k less. That is, after a few in-game weeks, they will have no money at all. Do you understand what I'm getting at?)

I think this is fair, given how AI cheats. Have a huge fleet and at the same time a huge amount of money? Sheer cheating
Small tip, if your about to be invaded on the ground, sell your buildings, then evacuate (retreat) your ground troops. it not worth attempting to hold a planet from the ground since the ai usually sends between 10 and 20 ground units to attack you, making a ground defense impossible and a waste of resources. Your troops on the planet are much better used in to invade/take another world

The developers are aware the Empire is a popular choice and to maintain proper balancing, their economy gets a big penalty by comparison to other factions at the start, however, if you start with more than one planet you'll have more planets than other factions. In addition the average attrition per ship frigate and above is higher than other factions' ships.

I have created a guide detailing the recommended starting path that takes attrition into account. Check that out if you can.

Cheers!

but is it truly balancing if you take the fun out. I am revisisting here because while I liked the intial grand update many of the changes they made afterwards drove me away and it's many the insane amount of attrition big ship atrition is fine but the fighters or the artillary stuff is too much heck the artillary is the main part drivign me away.
its too much
