I miss one planet starts
As title states.

Legit not having any fun with the static emplacement with the maps. Like I hate to say it but I miss 3.5. Its my one big complaint for this mods current build.

Yeah it's one thing to add an option, it's another thing to take away. "Dev team intended experience" would just be a petty excuse.

The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ map. It feels like a divisive way to force all the rats into the maze. Because if we had the one planet start and all the cpu players active and random seeding. No one and I mean no one would play the other gc maps. So you didnt present it as an option. Only thing that makes sense to me. You wrote this story a specific way and its important to you we read it a certain way. It bothers me but you are the artist and its your vision I guess.:steamsalty:

Option is still there it's called the Beginner map

So in other word I am right.

You know what make it worse. we gotta bust our ass to get a foothold. and once weve got the formula for selected faction if we survive your narrative we only have maybe 150- to 230 more turns before total system collapse and crash to desktop because the system just becomes too unstable. And thats about how long it takes to start effectively conquering the galaxy so right wqhen it gets good and things start to bare fruit it all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dies. This mod is beautiful but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

There's no narrative to the mod aside from some lore text for why the minor factions exist which most people dont read. The timeline is basically non-existant with characters and ships from all over. There's totally no narrative at all and if there was 80% of the rosters and all the minors would be gone to fit in some window of time and there would be missions given to you for rewards and to progress said narrative over the course of a period of time.
The idea that there's some narrative we've designed that you have to follow is just something you seem to be hung up on that you made up in your head as an excuse to be mad.

You said you were missing single-planet start GCs like 3.5 had and i have pointed where it's found. But you think it's a "copout" so i guess it's somehow not like the 3.5 maps and thus not good enough for whatever reason.

Let me "Simplify it" for you:

Your single planet start in this version of the mod is vastly inferior to the one we had in 3.5 and it doesn't matter how much you try to marginalize that. It is still grossly inferior.


Like all you would have to do to turn this into a win is turn the minor ais back on in the newer single player start and it will be acceptable and no longer skopp. Its that simple. You wont doit but it really is that simple. And there are of course other things to go along with that but thatd be the bare minimum and then me and others like me would no longer have a leg to stand on.

And the narrative that you claim doesnt exist stems from characters upgrade requirements. Like if there was a legit single planet and start with random seed locations It'd make it hard to upgrade legacy units. Like its gunna be awefully hard to upgrade Vader or Tarkin if you get seeded on the side that mon calamari is on When you need the Kuat system to complete their upgrade. So you would need to switch it to Tech level and shipyard level and not be planet specific where applicable

And if you should happen to reply with
" JuSt ReInStAlL 3.5"

You have how can I put it... if that's your reply you really did miss the bus and the point.

And Ill have you know I am not most people and I Do read Everything and I really like your descriptions. It really is a magnificent mod in spite of this.

3.5 never had minor factions so the beginner GC is just like the 3,5 single-planet start.
Turning on the minor factions AI would be quite unlike 3.5

Hey man. We've tried to create as extensive of a sandbox as we could, in similar style to the Total war warhammer III immortal empires map, before that was even announced. There's 3 major factions, a lot of minor factions, and each game a lot of variation happens in which factions become dominant. That's what I set out to do with the Web Way map and we've tried to support that with more content and fixes over the course of several patches.

We've now fully focussed on 5.0, which itterates on the current 4.x build, completely redoing some content such as the space combat mechanics, gc buildings, gc planet properties, while refining some other areas. It's certainly a specific experience we're aiming for and if it's not what you were looking for, that's unfortunate. We'll continue to do our best to get what we did aim for onto the best level possible :)

So what are the changes planned for 5.0? For while i loved the intial release of Grand update alot of the so called balance changes you made drove me away. espcecially the fighter artillery stuff. I don't mind the ship cost thing but the fighters and atrillery was just too much. In chats with other modders for other games I try to stress this. fine the balance between game balancing and fun factor. the updates i saw after 4.0 felt the fun factor gone. Graphics wise you guys are the best. and while there are some ships i would love to see in remake the roster I know is fine. but the issue are those changes. sicne there is a another look i am payign attention again. i hope I can return to it. it all depends on what you do.
