The First Ten Minutes (should they feel like the Alamo?)
I really want to dig into the meat and potatoes of this mod but I literally cannot move more than 200 meters without an attack helo/ tank/ fixed wing CAS destroying it. Eventually I stopped trying to link up with the rebels/insurgents. I simply start building a base literally where ever the free construction truck lands and attempt to defend it. I havent quite found a way to make walled and secure compound. The building limit per bunker seems to be making this very difficult.

Maybe I am going about this wrong, but it is nearly impossible to leave my base without getting attacked with advanced enemy assets like tanks and helos. It takes literally about 145 seconds for the AI to realize where I am at and then scramble (seemingly every) asset it has against my six man squad. Im not sure if this mod is supposed to have you arrive during an occupation, or a massive CSAT attack like D-Day / Normandy.

I could be going about this completely wrong, but it seems like this mission is WAY overpopulated. I can understand intense action when assaulting a large base. But I can't even get five minutes to build a small fob, much less help out a village etc. Any advise would be welcome.

After a few more hours of playing I have come to realize that all of my starting LZ's were simply massively unlucky. Pretty much landing in large urban areas or right on top of tank columns and the escort helo would simply land or bug out.

Hi, yes the landing site is very random, sometimes its challenging but often you can just drive away. To make it easier you can unlock all assest from start menu (also remove constructing limitations) and set difficult level lower to have more prestige at start. Creating guardpost with AT/AA-launchers at LZ should beat any enemy.

Setting AI skills in game options also have big effect. I use max skills for friendlies and 0.7-0.6 for enemies. Setting enemies to 0.3 should make the mission very easy already unless getting suprised by armed vehicles.

The CSAT choppers and planes are very deadly, but I also lowered those zones lately. Also checking map time to time, reveal where the most deadly zones are. Once you get closer, they might head to you if any other hostile soldier spot you.

But I continue balansing the gameplay, much still to do and add.

Yes, sorry if I sounded too negative, I was mostly looking for advise on the mod not trying to criticize it. I know that trying to contain and control and Sandbox game like Arma into doing what you want is SUPER difficult and I really enjoy the work you have put into this. After learning how to survive the first critical ten minutes this mod really starts to shine.

This was just the advice I was looking for as I have the same problem. This is one of my favourite mods. Fantastic work :-)

lol I needed this info too, got attacked by more than five IFV's right after i built a base. I'll try making sure I am in a good place to build, next game.
