We could use blender though, but the problem is that we must learn how to give the model new textures, and give the model elbows and knees if we are smart enough to know how

its possible but by using photoshop (change .tga) then by using VTFedit (change to .vtf). I saw somewhere video that shows ho to do it (problem is that video on rus as i remember).
Mabey in first time it will be hard but then will be fun
