If you check the BUGS thread, you'll see that it's a well known issue and currently there is no clear fix.

In theory, what MIGHT work to fix it temporarly is: 1) use only the mission's save system and avoid user saves; 2) reloading the game as soon as the problem occurs.

It might have something to do with the game's engine, it might be that this mission stresses the engine to much, who knows, BIS was not exactly forthcoming with the explanations.

The other option is that there is something wrong with the mission' scripting. Anyway, it would seem that the author himself doesn't have a clue so I would not count on a fix anytime soon. Sadly, I might add as it's the best mission outthere, minus the bugs.

it would have to be the mission itself, because of the fact that even when I load a new map, no one attacks anyone at all. I didnt use to have this problem till a recent update. Sad since I enjoyed this so much but what can I do :P.

My computer runs it at about 50 FPS why would this affect the Issue?

I found if I speed up t he game by pressing the + key, they will not shoot. If I slow it down to 1x speed (press -) then they fight.

this may be my issue... Whenever I use FRAPS to record, I push + on the numpad to start it.
