1.) Player squad is controlled by the player as normal. Soldiers or Heros are recruited from officer
2.) HQ Squad are the squads you recruited from the officer or given via squad manager. You can get motorized squad which comes with a wheeled APC. Press Ctrl+Space to switch to control these. You can see all allied units incl. Task Force Squads here
3.) Task Force Squad - these are auto-generated depending on points acquired during the campaign. There is no way to control these squads, they go around and do their own thing. These incl. Motorized squads, airplanes, helicopters, troop squads etc.
