The money printer is made more for server owners and map makers. Since it will not spawn and it cannot be crafted, an admin will have to manually spawn it or set up some system to obtain it on their server.

Creating an NPC would be one way to get them in the server. Especially if the server has a custom map built for it.

On most creative servers there wouldn't be much of a reason to use it but it would still work as intended and produce money.
