Made a little "fixed" version of the map
When i first time was playing this map, i already though that it had potential but it has many bugs you can see or exploit

But because i like this map, i made a "fixed" version that removes most of the bugs i found on this map

Before i release it though, i want a confirmation of the original creators to be allowed to upload the fixed version since i don't want to be involved in any copyright things

Tell me your opinion, it would be awesome ^^ :rocketto:

Hi, thanks for your interest.
We are currently working through fixes ourselves - this will be done in our own time.

Never upload content that is not yours as that would be copyright infringement. I repeat do not upload our map with your changes.

Please be patient, we will get there!

Actually, ShiinY has the right to release his edit of this map. Because there is no copyright infringement, because the map does not legally belong to you, The Honey Badger. It belongs to Valve, completely, as per their user agreement.

That said, that doesn't mean it would be a very nice thing to do. But he did ask permission, so there's that. But I just wanted to let you know that "copyright infringement" is completely out of the equation in this case or anything similar, there are no legal grounds for any wrongdoing here.

Incorrect.
Steam Subscriber Agreement Section 6.A: ''You grant Valve a non-exclusive licence'.
...Valve does not own copyright on third party material - they have the non-exclusive licence to use it.

This agreement is between Valve and the submitter - not third parties.

Copyright of any UGC is the property of the creator. This is why when you submit to the workshop you declare 'I understand' to a statement that declares you are the creator/rights holder.

That doesn't necessarily mean that you own the rights to the content you submitted. The mention 'I understand' to submit content is meant to avoid issues in the case of an actual legal case for Valve, but it doesn't mean that the submitter will be legally recognized as the full proprietor of all copyrights regarding the content they submitted.

Section 2.F: "All title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights in and to the Content and Services and any and all copies thereof, are owned by Valve and/or its or its affiliates’ licensors."

Section 6.A: " This license [you mentioned] is granted to Valve as the content is uploaded on Steam for the entire duration of the intellectual property rights."

The rest of the section clearly states that Valve has the right to do whatever they please with any UGC. The Steam Workshop is a service provided by Valve/Steam and therefore, as said in Section 6, by submitting content it belongs to Valve, but they will decline any and all responsibility in the case of third-party copyright infringement, as it has been the case before.

Wrong and completely missing the point.
2F is not about UGC.
Section 6 relates to UGC and the agreement between user(s) and Valve.
This guy is not Valve, he doesn't have the right to upload content he himself didn't create and in doing so claim ownership.
Copyright belongs to content creators - to upload other peoples content as your own is infringement.
End of discussion.
