Those mines are something I'm itching to start expanding as I have some cool plans for them. Another plan I have at the moment is to expand the mountain road. I added a comm tower further in the mountains and I'll expand the road there and eventually back to the valley from the other side (the dead end near the colony).
And, most authors don't notice new discusion for a while, so, good job!
And, wait, does that mean you where already planing on doing that mine thing?
Indeed! From the start I wanted to have a beautiful, peaceful looking colony and mines with deep creepy tunnels as a nice contrast. I just haven't had the time to create those tunnels yet.
Cant wait!
I know right! Even some simple NPCs would add a lot. Landing pad for small ships and large dirt field landing site for large ships are also something I'm planning to add. Road to lake too.
I decided not to add buildings as blueprints because there are so many (and there will be more). I might add some of the more complex ones, but you should be able to just make blueprints of those buildings yourself.
Ideally I would like to make one central power plant, but since there ain't power pylons to connect structures neatly and I don't really like to connect all of the buildings into one big grid, I might add small solar arrays or wind turbines for small group of structures or just power them individually. Most of the buildings though don't really need power since the battery will last months in some cases.
Still those too were on my to-do list :D
I fully agree on that :)
Well, another option is too have them one connected to a central “wire” that is undergroud. The buildings connect to the wire via a rotor. Then, for buildings that are very close together, they get merged into one grid, via air wires or something. Now, they aren’t one grid, but are all connected to the generator, which could be near the space port! (The industrial sector. The industrial sector could also be near the mine)
Also, the wires could be exposed underground in the mine, and, maybe partly ground antenas/ solar panels could be used to make the spark! Then, random (Or psuedo random)ly flickering lights!
Then, the wires could also have conveyrs on them, as utiity pipes. IRL they would carry water and sewage, in this colony they cary O2 and H2. However, if you want realism, in the industrial sector could have a sewage dumping system, and an ice mining system! The solar tower could include O2 Farms. The pipes would connect into any connected cargo (Buildings can use that cargo, but anyone cane, or they can put it in their own), and the rotra connection for the wire is an advanced rotor, so the air and such can go through. THe O2/ H2 will go to vents (In all buildings, since all buildings can be depreasurized, and some are (The food preserving room. It uses the vacum to prevent food decay.) because, why not)), and hight up buildings can be presurized to “O2 High”. IT will also go into Survival Kits/ med bays, the industrial sector will contain refinerays and assemblers for making stuff, that way you can say: “I need 10 steel plates”, craft it, and pull it out of the group box! You will be charged later.
Also, it could be connected via tunnel.
ANd, as said above, I think that could be part of an industrial sector. Maybe next to it would be a tunnel leading to a second entrance into the mines!
Also, the port oculd be near the mines, underground! Or, the landing pad could be underground, with a “hidden” entrance!
Also, you think that is long, @soup
I made a suggestion for someone in SE that was quite long. I didn’t check, but I would guess at least over 3,000.
I’ll get the number in one sec!
Okay, found it! 9,075 words!
I like to keep the lake clean, but there are quite few places I'm considering to place that space port.
Good ideas there, I'll think about them when I'm working on the map.
