The gloss/shine on the modles could be a result of the cubemaps. If you are able to edit the map through the command console in gmod [ press ~ or ` ] and type mat_specular 0 it should turn off all reflections. I will look into downloading the map myself and run a test.
-mat_specular 0
-map gm_battlefield_1_renovation (Load your map)
-buildcubemaps
-disconnect
-mat_hdr_level 0
-map gm_battlefield_1_renovation
-buildcubemaps
-disconnect
-mat_specular 1
-mat_hdr_level 2
-map gm_battlefield_1_renovation (Load different level; clears texture cache)
-map gm_battlefield_1_renovation (Load your map again)
I will do my part for generating propper reflections to LDR and HDR modes, then I will make an update to the map.
My solution is to replace the ground [blend] texture with a different one that can use a custom .vbsp file, but that requires a custom grass sprite file the texture can use to project from the ground in game. I tried this on gm_pandora_night when all the .vbsp files were corrupt on one random occasion.
