Small bug but not anything gamebreaking any cosmetic mod that offers T2 and T3 versions of the TLP weapons still use regular animations, however base versions of TLP weapons work fine.

It's not a bug, it's just not a mod I've supported here, to be honest. I'll see what I can do about that, shouldn't be too hard to add, but I don't make any promises.

I get a weird issue with this mod that I've noticed with the plasma TLP cannon. It uses the vanilla animation as advertised, but the sound effect is bugged—that mechanical 'charging up' sound effect that the gun makes right before it fires? For some reason, it doesn't play. The actual gunfire sound works fine, but the cannon's charge-up sound doesn't. I haven't modified the .ini files at all.

Same here. I also use Veheementia's TLP Conventional, Magnetic and Plasma weapons with Visual Upgrades mods with this mod.

I can see the new animation, but the weapons lack grips, so it looks like the soldiers are holding thin air:

I didn't take a screenshot of the Energy Cannon, but it's the same.

I also went to XComWeaponSkinReplacer.ini and XCom_WOTC_TLP_Vanilla_Cannon_Anim.ini to invert the commented lines, but this had no effect. The vanilla cannons were not replaced by the TLP ones.
