Using this mod since 3-4 days now, new is only, that they now even import when all fields and silos are full and waiting for transport. So they basicly buy stuff for flour-mills & co while thy sell the products from the fileds instead of transporting them to the mills.
I really like the industries DLC and even think it should replace the generic ones
But for how it is right now, you cant make real profit out of it unless your city is already big and wealthy and you have all the factories going
The biggest advantage of that DLC is the depth and aesthetics tho and not the "making money" part
Problem with imports does not nacassarly comes from lacking of production.
There is also very annoying bug in the logic of storage.
Once you place storage it instantly imports to fill it self to a minimum level (balanced 50%, fill 80%).
I wonder if it is possible to access and change this behaviour and add:
1) ban import - option for storage facility
2) option to divide trucks and limit number of trucks of the facility thta can be used for export.
Cris.
Thats exactly what i was looking for all the time
Some kind of mods that lets me regulate import and export
Its so important, yet has no options in the game
Really weird
Last night I built 2 cattle sheds, right next to one silo at 100% full and another at 80%. Cattle sheds moaned about no materials until a string of trucks arrived from out of town and supplied them (tanking my budget for a few minutes). From then on, the sheds started using the silo grain.
Similarly, built a new barn (to take some of the excess in my other silos). Nothing happened for a while, then budget tanked again as a string of outside trucks came in to fill my barn.
It doesn't happen all the time though. I've definitely seen trucks from one silo going to a newly built one to redistribute.
EDIT: Maybe this mod could help? Might try it tonight:

This is working!

I've made some buildings to go with it so you can do the same for generic industry and commercial zone goods

Though keep in mind that it may be a bit cumbersome to use atm
Edit:
Oh, just realized the discussion was from a year ago not recent. I read 4 Jun instead of 4 Jul in the last comment, oh well... Still a mod worth checking I think though
