I couldn't believe it's not already possible, what you're suggesting. After coping with the results a few days I still can't believe how the unique factories get delivered across the map while full warehouses are just next to them. I guess I came here by the same pointer.
I also notice the mod can't fully resolve my broken city setup, that was made based on the assumption I had more control over the buffering, that would take place also by selecting the possible suppliers (eligible warehouses). My unique factories are mostly more than a few tiles away from the processors, connected via rail and I still often observe unique factories being idle waiting for a resource delivery for too long.
I guess I'll have to try another city from scratch, as the game seems to be asking to integrate the unique factories much more tightly with their resource providers instead of separating them, like I did, whether this mod is enabled or not.
You can set up industry to deliver to the warehouses and make your unique factories only order from the warehouses of your choice.
I've made some more buildings to go with it so you can do the same for generic industry and commercial zone goods too
