What happens if a droid dies from lack of power?
even though the reason they died was from lack of power, and I have both droid repair parts and kits, and sources of power, I can't seem to recharge the droid. Is he seriously dead for good? or am I just missing how I'm supposed to recharge the droid?

Yes, he's dead. But he was supposed to explode on death instead of leaving a corpse.
(I know I have answered you in the mod comments already, this is for the sake of anyone else who runs into the same problem)

To add to that, seems like they aren't supposed to "die" when they run out of power. soooo.. I'm not sure what's wrong with my setup.

Just to add to this droid "death" issue, if they die in a caravan they will also leave behind a corpse

yea I can attest to this I lost one when I tried to use the explosion to fend off a raid did not explode when it died in close quarters with the raiders it just fell over and left a corps. I was really hoping for a big boom so its sacrifice would save the lives of the rest of my group but sadly that did not happen.
