It might be intended for it to be set in 1939, but it uses weapons that weren't introduced until later in the war, for example, the MG42. Also the issue with that date is that the Soviets are invading the map, meaning that Germany and Russia are at war, meaning it's at least 1941, but since the Soviets are the ones invading, it's more likely 1944 or 1945.

Plus they are using King Tigers, a unit that wasnt used until late war (1944 or 1945)
