Bug Reporting
Post any and all bug reports here - I'd prefer to keep the main comments section free for balance feedback and other suggestions.

If you can, please try regenerating your config files and see if that fixes the problem. To do this, delete this folder:
Documents\My Games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config
DONE! Start up the game and most problems should be solved right then and there.

If your problem is related to the mod's schematic merges, set the config option SPARK_OVERRIDE_INVENTORY in XComUpdateSpark.ini to true, and then load a save. It should deposit SPARK items to your inventory if you own their respective squad items. More detailed explanation is in the config file.

If you are completely out of options and nothing works, and have an hour to spare, try this:

First, refresh your configs. Refer to the bug reporting thread's top post on how to do that. Second, go to MW's XComUpdateSpark.ini and make sure all the settings are set to true.

Then make sure you have console enabled (google it), open the game with only MW and it's requirement mods. Use the command "UISpawnScreen UIShell" on the main menu to go into debug mode. Click the Strategy button then Strategy Debug Start. Skip the starting cutscenes and you'll be right in the Avenger. Now use the commands (without quotes):
"GiveTech MechanizedWarfare"
"GiveTech PlatedArmour"
"GiveTech MagnetizedWeapons"
"GiveTech GaussWeapons"
"GiveTech AutopsyAndromedon"
Save your game and call the file "DEBUGGING" or something obvious.

Now go to engineering or the proving grounds or wherever and see if your problem is fixed. It SHOULD work this first time, because you only have MW enabled. If it doesn't, your game is seriously screwed up. If it works, then add five more mods and load this save to repeat the process until you find which mod is screwing it up. Some mods may require you to do an entirely new campaign, in which case you'll need to make a new one instead of just loading that save we made. Try the ones that don't require a campaign restart first.

This whole thing is going to be tedious, but it is almost guaranteed to find you the culprit.

There seems to a Problem with Counterstrike ability , once it triggered it remained in the animation forever, thus freezing the entire mission, which I had to restart

Well that's odd. By "triggered it" you mean an enemy triggered it right? It's not supposed to be an ability on your hotbar. What other mods do you have installed?

Well the lighting strike punch it seems to show up on the other classes than the spark when on missions.

Nope. Just reload the configs once and it should properly load MW from that point on. If you regenerate the configs, restart a new game, and the problem is still there, then can you give me a list of the other mods you're running with?

I've updated the top post of this thread with instructions on how to regenerate your configs. Close XCOM 2, follow the instructions, reopen it and see if it's fixed.

I've updated the top post of this thread with instructions on how to regenerate your configs. Close XCOM 2, follow the instructions, reopen it and see if it's fixed.

Ah do that, well its not gonna mess with anything that ive change will it? If anything I think its the mec mod ive got on.

It shouldn't mess up anything, just fix things. What MEC mod do you have on? MEC Troopers? That one should be compatible

Well as long as both things are good than I hope it fixes things up. yeah the mec troops.

Also how does one find a way to see what mods i do have active to compared to the ones that arent? I know ive done it before but now I cant find it on steam.


Also lighting strike is still up on my classes on missions. PLus that update you did is now showing in my weapons for upgrade and I havnt done the mag weapon upgrade yet or plasma.

Well where do I find the mod list?

You know when you do the research for the mag and plasma? well when you do the upgrades it already shows, the update you just did is showing up without me research it yet.

You just open XCOM 2 and in the launcher it will show you what mods you have enabled and which you do not. Can you tell me what mods you have enabled and then try running a campaign with only Mechatronic Warfare, New Promotion Screen By Default, and X2WOTCCommunityHighlander enabled?

Also, I hate to ask this, but do you have all of these currently enabled:

Shen's Last Gift
War of the Chosen
Mechatronic Warfare
New Promotion Screen By Default
X2WOTCCommunityHighlander
