Would you like to see the Escort mobility promotion bonus back on Light cavalry ?
Hello this is the Author of this mod and i would like to have your advise,

One of our civ comrades reminded me of the vanilla "ultimate" promotion belonging to light cavalry called "Escort mobility". This promotion grants all units in the same formation this previous light cavalry unit speed.

I was thinking of bringing it back on the light cavalry tree if people really miss it but i am not sure yet. I had buried this promotion when i made this mod back in the day because i thought it was a bit overpowered, especially with siege units ... and not very realistic tbh (imagining the guys on horses lending some more horses coming from nowhere to other poeple ... you know ... it's a bit much)

What i could do :

- associate it to the already existing new ultimate i made (resulting a furtive unit + can give its speed during escort formation). I don't know if the game can handle the combo but the result should be very powerful in the case for sure.

- associate it to another lesser promotion.

- Give it to another unit. Here i would not know which one.

- Give you the line to add (or un-comment code, it would even be easier) to one of my mod file to make it happen so this would be a tweak and not reaching all the mod users.


Give me your thought by commenting and i will make a decision asap.

Personnaly the current ultimate is convenient, but if other players want to change it, what about making a user setting or an explanation about changing that so as tohave two possibilities ?

I like the tactical aspect of this promotion. To balance it, why not to exclude the siege units from being carried by the light cavalry ?

I think recon units should get the escort mobility promotion since they don’t have too much movement speed making them ideal in any era. Plus rangers and spec ops get medical training and guard medics in the field. As for sea units I don’t know maybe aircraft carriers is a good choice. Though I always had lots of navel melee units for the escort promotion.

I feel kind of bad posting here, but for some reason it won't let me write a comment in the normal comment section, so let me answer your question first:
I think escort mobility is great and I think it fits light cavalry perfectly. When I discovered your mod I thought that there could also be some escort capability for ships.

Now to the question I wanted to ask you: I installed this mod on my iPad. Everything works wonderfully except for the custom icons you created. They are amazing by the way. I would have never known they weren't original. The icons don't really get displayed at all. There are just a couple pixels in the top left corner, but they are the same for every icon. I looked at your code and found this <IconTextureAtlases> and the <IconDefinitions>, but gained no insight of what actually causes this problem. I don't expect you to fix it for me. I just wondered wether you knew what the issue might be?
