Unit Suggestions Thread
Hello there!

I thought it might be an idea to start a Discussion page for people's suggestions of countries/units/etc., hopefully with some visual references to help you on your noble quest to bring us amazing models! :) This is in order to leave the comments section to be devoted to well-deserved praise and reporting of bugs.

I’ll repost my suggestion below:
Lovely work! I'm loving what you're doing in this and the Scandinavian one :D! 

My only critique would be that maybe the Belgians should have the French Adrian helmet for Infantry, otherewise it's perfect!

I don't suppose it's possible to differentiate slightly between infantry 0 and infantry 1 for Spain, is it? Then it might be possible to have the Republicans on 0 and Nationalists on 1 in the model picker :)! 

Absolutely adore your mods, and really hope you carry on doing everyone :D! 

P.S. Please consider making some lovely units like this for Britain, France, Soviets and Poland especially, as they're so bland and only have 1 model ^^!

I hope that these references might give you some inspiration to continue your fantastic work! I'd also argue that both are Minors, despite being Major powers of the time, as their role was tragically cut short and their limelight stolen by those pesky Brits, Americans, Soviets, Germans, etc. Thank you ever-so much for all you've done so far, and can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve! :)

A very thorough thread! I have already done a fair bit for France, with distinct uniforms for Infantry (although I could not figure out how to make a greatcoat, so are without), Mountaineer, and Motorized/Mechanized. I also created a 'late war' uniform based upon this... Which IMO is better than giving them US equipment.

I would like Italian desert divisions to have a pith helmet on and maybe short sleeves possibly, and maybe a L6 tank skin? I know you don't do tanks but I beg of you to try. And, maybe a blackshirt skin for the colonial templates.

@McNaughton That's great! And that uniform you're using as a reference looks pretty nice and keeps the French identity far better than the ones I suggested! In regards to the great coat - could you try using the base game Soviet or French model and edit that? Or somehow import their coats over the top of the model you are using as a base? Sorry, I don't really know how model editing works! Would be brilliant if you could :) Keep up the fantastic work!

I actually have some good italian,french,and polish models I got permission from mandingo to port them to hoi4 from men of war 2 if you want to have a look at them I have some for blackshirts,paratroopers,alpini,bicycle troops, and colonial troops , also some winter uniforms i believe.

That'd be p cool, however I know nothing about how to position them. It'd be pretty nice if you could make the colonial troops to have the blackshirt uniform, the mountaineers to have alpini, bicycle/motorcycles to have motorized, and so on. I'd totally advertise it and such.

I think it be really nice if you could do a imersion pack for some of the realisable colonial nations like Kenya,Israel,Palastine,Egypt,Belgan Congo,Jordan,Vietnam,Laos and Cambodia(I guess they would be the same as vietnam,Syria and Lebbanan along with some of the nations that start out as colonial puppets like the Dutch East Indies and Malaya.

@Flying Spaghetti Monster, unfortunately the actual mesh models cannot change from base to desert to snow, only the diffuse.dds, which means the helmets will have to be the same for all versions, but, can be coloured differently. I have found the odd images of the M33 helmet used in the desert, and will have to go with those.

Ah I see, maybe we could use the colonial division people to have the desert skins instead of the blackshirts, just an idea because usually people use colonial things in the desert if they even use them.

Might it be possible for Poland to sneakily weasel its way a little higher in the to-do-list? ^^

Also, I was wondering if France and Vichy France would have the same skins? Are they like Spain, where its considered the same country, or are they different in terms of model lists?

I was wondering if, in response to Flying Spaghetti Monster's query, whether you might, once all nations are completed, perhaps make / edit models to fit the various mods that add the extra unit types like Jaegers, Desert, Jungle, Militia, etc.? Although that would certainly be a lot of work!

Sorry for all the questions, just excited by your brilliant work :D!
