Late response, but that shouldn't be the case while using this mod. If you have any survivor files or scripts that may conflict with those mods - you're bound to get those issues.

Reverify your files and unsubscribe from any addons that's going to conflict with your survivors.

If that doesn't work, start from vanilla without subscribing to any other mod than this.

The mod's been updated to where if you choose your character with !zoey or /zoey, it should stay that way every time you host a lobby, or join a server that has this mod installed - Your choice of character should still be Zoey.

If none of that works, I'm not sure what to tell you. Hope you have it figured out by now.
