Alternate Mod with lower drop rate
So a few people requested a version with a lower drop rate of the unique.
I will do this, but i dont know which percent chance you prefer,
so if you want this version add a comment with your opinion.

maybe a 30% chance of finding a unique would work quite nicely?

I would think something like 33-50% would be about right.

Have you considered other buffs to the golden chest? One that can be kind of fun is to add a level bonus to certain spawnclasses so, for example, you would have a chance to get a weapon that's up to 5 levels higher than you would normally see in that area. This can really be valuable since you have the option to buff your stats to equip it early.
