How To Play! [CLICK HERE]
-In-Game

#1 - download the mod by clicking on "Subscribe"

#2 - wait for Steam / Left 4 Dead 2 to install the mod

#3 - open L4D2

#4 - go to "Mutations"

#5 - choose "Change Mutation"

#6 - search for the "Walkers"-gamemodes and choose one

#7 - click on "Play with Friends"

#8 - "Create new lobby"

#9 - "Server Type: Local Server" (IMPORTANT!)

Done!

It just doesn't... Wont even launch, these instructions don't give much detail either...

Yes, you can. Starting the map via console is singleplayer or maybe there's a singeplayer option in the mutations tab (it's been a long time since I last worked on this mod, sorry). If neither of those work for you, start a new lobby and set it on private as a local server. That's basically the same as playing singleplayer.

Edit: Starting Singleplayer games directly is not possible, you won't be able to choose a map. Instead (after selecting a Mutation), click on "Play with friends" and create a private local Server.
