Gorgeous, creative, and well executed. 5/5 stars.

Realistically, everyone already knows how good I Hate Mountains is, but I want to reiterate that it has stood the test of time. This custom campaign is nearly a decade old and it's STILL one of L4D2's best.

The environments are beautifully detailed both inside and outside, and unlike many custom campaigns with a level design gimmick, this one's gimmick actually feels totally natural for Left 4 Dead. Every chapter has at least one fork in the road where the Survivors can choose to go left or right, and eventually both paths end up at the same place. It's an inspired choice that meshes perfectly with Left 4 Dead's focus on replayability.

My only gripe is with the mansion in Map 2. It's visually stunning, and climbing to the top in silence and fighting down through a horde is brilliant, but it stinks that the campaign peaks (in difficulty and enjoyment) in Map 2 of 5. Still, I Hate Mountains is consistent and polished to the end. You need it!
