Is it possible to have them upgrade a building if they are alive long enough? Wood, Stone, Metal and eventually turrets and such. The longer you leave them be, the stronger they get.
Edit: You could add dino's to their "tribe" too over time. Easier then trying to add dino's they are riding. (Like swords did by making a full template)

For Dino riding there is a mod called npc tribal wars and I think insted of tribes taming dinos they just spawn in on one like that other mod? Maybe as a quick fix have a guy start off on a raptor and as time goes one spawn better dinos? I do love the idea you posted a while back of having the hunter spawn in a allied raptor to attck people.

may have an idea for this the gigantopithecus the giant gorilla bigfoot guy he can have a shoulder pet and you with a shoulder pet yourself like a monkeystack i gave him a monkey and it flung poo at enemies and i had a monkey and it did same as well as i used a slingshot perhaps something like this can be arranged in a similar way or can be tweaked im unsure however if you can give them an ability to pick up a pet using their code with a option to tell them it may help them carry a pet and it may be a way to tweak them to ride some dinos still just an idea :)

NPC tribe wars is reskined NPC bush people it is Bush Peoples mod just braught back under a new name it is a huge mess and last time i seen it they didnt really ride dinos it was just a dino with a saddle skin with fake humans on it not real ones my friend zonekiller here plans to actually make them ridable and still use their own weapons i believe similar to how we do when we ride raptors dire wolfs etc where we can equip guns spears bows etc hope this helps

Personally I think the whole Human NPC's riding Dinos thing is overrated. Seems to be just fluff for fluff sake. I'd much rather see something like having tames follow the Humans while they gather. That would be way more beneficial to me than having them ride a Dino.

@kupacmac True but they do have a hard time keeping up with the player as is by being able to ride they may actually keep up with us unless you make them have high movement speed but then they look pretty unrealistic but is a option perhaps he will add both features at some point :)

The mod Simple humans (dead long ago) let your npcs to ride some dinos, dunno how tho.

Fleeing when over powered. i.e. I turn up with 2 Rex's and 8 Raptors at the edge of their camp. Instead of fleeing a bloke in a cloth runs at us. Suicide. Could they flee if over powered?

Oh another thought could they be different per village, some already friendly others always angry. I don't know if either are possible, just trying to appeal to your love of randomness.

@UCG The fleeing, if overpowered - im not sure that could be possible.

This should make them Random as they will be pissed off with everything including players for 10 minutes if a dino attacks them , if no dinos have attacked them within 10 minutes they will be friendly.

There are many settings in the GUS.INI to make them act like you would want and more are getting added with every update
