Just open it up in the editor, save it as something else (you don't have to change anything), and try again. Worked for me, anyway

go to start the game "the selected senario is invalid" thats the warning

Ok sorry for opening an old thread but i see this a lot on several maps with unclear responses on how to fix this error. its real simple. after subscribing to the map, go to - program files(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/AOE2HD/scenario - and rename the subscribed map to something shorter and without brackets. the brackets seem to cause errors for some players. if you do as i say then this will work for you.
