I appreciate the interest, but I am sorry to say that I'm going to have to pass. I was actually already planning on making a few rock races myself, one for each type of rock (but don't let that stop you from doing it).
If it's any help, I don't know any coding either. Making a race is actually much more simple than it seems. Take a look at the files from another race mod. I recommend looking at one that doesn't add too much (like the Cactaceae mod). You'll notice that most of it is just code that's already in the base game, just with different values and names.
So, I looked at code from another race mod, found a similar file in the core game, and copy/pasted code from the base game to my own new file and changed the values to match what I wanted. Then I looked at other race mod's code and I made sure that I included all the variables they did. You can also use the Alien Race Framework github page for some other settings:
https://github.com/erdelf/AlienRaces/wiki
If you'd like, you can use my mod as a reference, and feel free to ask any questions
I'll look into using other race mods as general references, and perhaps look around Youtube or the Ludeon forums for some more in-depth stuff.
Hopefully I'll manage to get the hang of this stuff with some practice. If I have any questions, I'll be sure to ask ya!
Good luck with your own rock people, I look forward to seeing them!
