1. VX-2 chips are essential if you want to 'fix' the T5s
2. Removing self will doesn't work with T5s
Here's how you get another personality into a T5
- Find either a human or low-tier android you want to put into the T5 that has great traits and skills
- With low-tier androids (i.e. T1), research and build a skycloud core. Then build skills servers AFTER you have installed a skymind antenna. You need a security server to prevent it from being hacked when connected
- Skillpoints for a T1 to increase skills/passion levels is the lowest possible. With a human, you need to install a VX-2 chip and upload their mind into the skycloud core
- If you go the T1 route, max their skills/passions first, as it doesn't require a massive amount of skill servers
- If you go the route of uploading a human, you can increase their skills while their mind is in the skycloud core, but it requires more skillpoints than going the T1 route.
- Regardless if you go the human or t1 route, they need to be in a higher tier android (T2+ I think. I did it mostly with T4s/T4 surrogate bodies) to run a personality change operation if you want to change their traits. You cannot run a personality change on a T5. If you went the T1 route, you will need to upload its mind to a higher tier android or put it in the Skycloud core and put it into a higher-tier android.
- Once you have the desired traits, you want to have a VX-2 installed on the T5
- You now either run a skycloud download of your colonist's mind in the skycloud core to the T5 OR if you have a non-surrogate T2-4, just permute/duplicate/upload their mind into the T5
- Voila, your T5 now won't randomly kill your colonists
To be fair, T5s will still kill lower tier androids as well, even though the intolerance trait says only humans. I've had one kill one of my T4s.
Hope that helps.
