Translating the Martian Tribune
This mod is primarily text. The stories are only 3-5 sentences long each, but they also have a title, and there are currently over 90 of them. If you are brave enough to wish to tackle such a task, knowing that I fully intend on adding another 90+ stories in this next month or two... then that is absolutely amazing and flattering and I can't wait to see the end result!!!

That said, I will need to modify my code a little in order to make this happen. I have a GitHub that I have used while creating this mod and it includes an Excel file that contains all of the stories (which is also in your mod folder, likely!). As things stand, it was utilized solely to help me work my way through adding new stories into the script... but the script itself is a long mess of code and text that would be difficult to work with translation-wise.

Because of that difficulty, I intend to go through each line of actual text within the script and copy/paste it into an appropriate tab on that Excel document. When I do this, I'll also include the Translation ID# of that text line as well.

Do know that this won't happen overnight, but as a bilingual myself (English and Spanish), I very much wish to make translation of a mod like this a possibility and see great value in it. It will happen, I'll just need a little time to get it there for you. :-)

I'll keep updating this thread as progress is made.

Gonna work on this tonight on stream at www.twitch.tv/CheTranqui. Stream should start up around 6:30pm cst. Once we finish with that, we'll be doing a playthrough with the mod, too. :-)

After about 4 hours of working through it, I have a good pattern set and we are on our way. It will likely take another day or two to prepare the code for translation.

While I'm preparing the code, I'm also creating a database that contains just the text-variable, the text itself, and providing you with any necessary context to help you in your translation efforts. Will update again once the process is complete. Likely this will be somewhere around the 15th of May.

@CheTranqui - I've submitted a pull request on GitHub that finishes off your translation effort, moves most functions into local functions (so that they don't affect other mods), simplifies save/reload data storage, adds a trait to the colony leader so that it is possible to find them in-game/see which of the pinned colonists is the leader, and fixes a few typos that were causing the MT to break when particular stories were triggered. It is also compatible with the latest DaVinci patch.

As a follow-up to this for all to see:

Dawnmist has put in some incredible work. It has now been incorporated into the mod and the current version of the Martian Tribune reflects that. Dawnmist has now been added as an official Contributor to this fine newspaper. :-)

Code for translating the Martian Tribune is now a part of the mod. You may find it in the "Locales" folder. Listed is the English.csv, which you will want to copy and rename into the target language ('Spanish.csv') then add the appropriate translation with a comma after the original English.

Please let me know if you're interested in bringing the Tribune into your language.
