they eat meat after tamed, they are passive creatures and will not attack you unless if you attack them first, wear bug repellant or if their on their killing spree after killing a bug.

ogre darners can also take bee honey for taming but its less effective than rare flowers

Best way I've found is to do it like a Crystal Wyvern. Get on it and passive feed it rare flowers.
