That doesn't sound like it's coming from my mod nor vanilla, so my guess would be another mod. Neither my mod nor vanilla has a single dialog line that uses the term "sandcrawler".

Is this an issue with recruitable prisoners? i have the compatibility patch, i have not recruited any unique characters only dust bandits and starving bandits.

I've noticed this too. The shek don't attack me, but very early in my game, around day 5 I believe, there was a massive battle in Squinn between the Shek and a couple passing hiver caravans, and a couple days later between the Shek and a Traders Guild caravan for no apparent reason.

LOL I was trying to figure this out too. It seems to be if you are allied with the UC, Anytime I start as the captains son they attack me. Any other start seems fine.
