Did you do sv_cheats 1 before you did the HUD command?

The HUD is not a cheat command, you don't need to enable sv_cheats. Be sure that you've typed "doom_cl_hud 1" into the console.

No you don't, it works in Single Player.

Sever = Single play and Multi player....
