Maybe horisontal/vertical auto-level feature would be handy for full auto pilot)
I'll consider the auto leveling idea. It could be an extra feature you could turn on. Although this script is not intended to be auto pilot. Hence the name.
Just feed it the planet's gravity falloff ratio (usually 7), its current gravity, and its radius.
P.S.: i am not a programmer of scripts myself but i think it should be possible to alter the relative direction of the used thrusters to the cockpits direction quite easyly... but i dont know that much about that stuff
In custom data of the programmable block you'll find the settings. There's a setting called something along the lines of "Use bottom instead of read thrusters". Change that from no to yes and you're good to go!
Edit: This setting has been changed since this answer was posted. Its now called Select thrusters and you have the options Auto, Rear, or Bottom. Auto chooses the side with the most thrust (it does not take thruster type into consideration).
I set the target speed as low as it can go, and it does the job!
However whilst the ship is actually mining it cant move as fast as the target speed, so it maxes out thrust override. Is this a feature already and I have just missed it?
My suggestion is this, could you implement a speed control?
From the Toolbar you can increase or decrease the desired speed and it is displayed on the screen, as in this ship https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1138662199
Thank you very much.
But the lift would be too high to 0 grav :D
That's a good idea! I've actually been working on the script the last couple of days to make it even more space-lift worthy.
I'll see if I can make this work.
