only having a few hundred hours of in game playing, i can safely say that yes, this IS too confusing for new players. i thought everything was a normal med kit!

I think the main confusion would come from the fact that besides white and black, the dominant color is blue for both teams

i agree with The Pixelteer here. It doesn't have (at least yet) a red Varient, which may cause confusion, like that spy jacket that looked red on the blue team.

Here is a quick thing to solve the "both team variants are blue" problem, on red team just switch the blue with the red on the cross sygnal and tadaa, you have a red team variant.
