I dont know if youve played it, its abit old, but its the most Star Warsy game of all star wars games in terms of original trilogy flavoring, and certainly in terms of tech use the time of its creation.
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
Its such a... missed gem of gaming. The worlds are made semi-realistically with also regard for making them fun to fight in and also not to let you get lost in the vast architecture. The enemies are a challange (at higher levels). The structural challange to the levels is unique. You arent penalized for exploring. The cinematics are live action and the actors dont suck. The difficulty challanges arent just : Enemies have more health. Its also timing, enemy accuracy, placement of enemies, timing of puzzles, speed of moving platforms. But all of its, somehow, just more fun as the difficulty scales up.
I would say check it out for ideas on implementing challanges, flavor, visuals, and maybe even NPC character development.
(You may need to adjust the controls for present day use. It came at a time when Joysticks and keyboard only control schemes were in vogue. There are also mods that make the graphics more modern. If you dont want to bother with any of that, contact me directly, i can make it very easy for you.)
Actually I am in the midst of revamping the lightsabers and Force powers component of this mod (ugaizzz seem to like those more than anything else) so once I have a working prototype I may talk to ProjectMayhem to see what he thinks....obviously the dungeon must first be created, before we can then include the Droidekas or AATs as mini-bosses.
No can do, it's not finished.
A massive, MASSIVE update for this (at least the core parts) is underway, until it's done I have little interest in putting it online.
