for anyone else: does the glitch happen from specific traits or randomly from any zombie attack?
So just to confirm if the bug only happens when a player is bitten, then the player is going to be a zombie soon anyways, so isn't the run over regardless? So even if the bug occurs, I'm not seeing much of an issue, except losing out on the slow zombification time.
But if using a cure mod then it is a problem since it would mean not getting a chance to cure it.
No that's not at all the issue, because bites are not special. Unless by "bite" you meant "any attack that infected the character"
What trait, superimmune? He would have certainly been bleeding though, how does he know that bleeding couldn't have been the cause of death? As far as I know the instant death bug is due to zombie infection, and having zombie infection means raising as a zombie.
I suspect that the friend just wasn't paying attention to bleeding and/or corpse sickness moodles, and/or took some other trait (like Alcoholic from Dynamic Traits), or Anemic or such.
Are you referring to More Traits? If-so what makes you say that? What are the specifics around an instant death, if you had one happen?
There has always been an instant death bug caused by removing zinfection without clearing the zinfection timer. As far as I know the popular mods like More Traits are not causing that bug [at least anymore]. Instead the likely culprit if from using the debug/admin/cheat menu to remove infection, which does not properly remove it. The next time a character gets infected they will instantly die as long as enough time has past since the previous zinfection.
"The issue I see is there is a trait that let's you get bitten/scratched but doesn't actually lead to a zombie infection." hopefully it is a bit clearer now. I couldn't remember the trait name at the time but I was talking about "superimmune" trait.

He had superimmune with thick blooded. One zombie snuck up on him near our base and he got bit in the arm. after cleaning and bandaging, he promptly died from who knows what. I suspect superimmune did work to prevent zombification but he had no other injuries and definitely didn't bleed out as his corpse had the bandage on it's arm when I showed up. unfortunately there's no way to do an autopsy to confirm exactly what killed him.
This still wouldn't explain my scenario where we were not using debug/admin/cheat menus. Regardless, death is part of the gameplay and I've told him many times to not grow attached to characters he makes, yet he is determined to prove he can survive with one character and spends all his time improving that character only to die in the dumbest of ways.
instant death & invisible and unkillable still an issue or has that been fixed?
