Have you already researched Hybrid Materials? If so load a avenger save and the research should show up.
I understand why Ex Machina soldiers have immunity to fire and poison, they're full body cyborgs at that point so they're gonna have machine-like immunities. However, why do they have acid and explosive immunity? Acid burn is explicitly supposed to work on robotic units and explosions work on anything.
as for explosive resistance, Bomb Squad gear already exists. what's actually most dangerous in an explosion is the volume and size of the shrapnel and blast wave caused by it. your average grenade, even a plasma-based one probably wouldn't have the "Oomph" to do much (additionally, a Plasma grenade would do most of its damage via heat, rather than shrapnel).
Ah, so it's like adding shielding. Okay, cool. Thank you for clarifying.
I am also assuming that absorption fields make it so enemies can't do above a percent amount of hp damage?
