Looks like a railgun!
Looked up some images and yup, very similar to a railgun. Though it may end up weird since Amprex doesn't fire high velocity projectiles.

Still cool though.

The open rail design common to sci-fi railguns is completely innacurate. You actually need an enclosed barrel in a railgun or the slug will just fly out the side since that's the path of least resistance.

However, you can use a laser to guide an electric charge so this design is actually pretty good for a lightning thrower.

Thats what I was thinking too, also to the comment above, a railgun in space would shoot straight as there is no resistance anyhow.

The resistance is the magnetic waves that attempt to push the projectile. the least resistant path isn't towards the magnets, it's towards the side where there is nothing else preventing the projectile from flying out of the line that is supposed to accelerate the projectile.

I'd LOVE to see something like this for the Flux Rifle too, I love your work with Corpus weapons.

A rail gun is not a coil gun. how about you learn the difference.

first thing i thought was its a rail gun dont know if it really works for a lightning gun,

Opticor, Lanka may seem more fitting.

Huh a skin that makes the amprex look awesome? Yup. Pity the dmg2.5 is about to render it unusable. As for the lanka comments, sure but elongate the 2 barrel pieces and sure.

as far as i know they aren't touching elemental just nerfing slash and buffing puncture and impact , but lets hope they dont make us take a break tho :(
