If I'm understanding your question correctly, when you enable Immersive Taming mod, you can still use the vanilla game taming as well. Using immersive taming mod does not stop anyone from using the game's normal vanilla taming way where you knock things out or passive tame things, unless you specifically set the game to not allow the vanilla settings. Sorry, but it doesn't. I know the vanilla taming is still an option unless you disable it, but I prefer Immersive Taming since the effectiveness is always 100% so I have mine set to Immersive Taming Only. It seems like when this is enabled you can only tame with bait, which is a little disappointing. I'll be testing it some more so I'll post my findings here, I guess.
