Fighter complements
I have a question about the following from the change notes:
"- Fighter complements are now tech-sensitive. Once you research all the base units in a single tech level and advance, ships in the previous tech level will receive improved hangar complements, often with new fighter/bomber designs."

How exactly does this work? Do I have to research all ships (to include all fighter designs) or just freighters and above? Does it matter if I research a single type of fighter to the max? What happens if I max out a ship before researching everything in the tier? If I only research the ships I want/use, will this ever trigger or will each ship only have its' default complement until I research everything?

I guess you only have to unlock all the base units of each tech tier while ignoring unit upgrades, but no source to confirm this.

Quote from evilbobthebob: "At tech 3, the EF76 Nebulon-B gets X-wings instead of Z-95s for the Rebels, and a split of TIE Fighter and Interceptor for the Empire"

You have to research all units (ground and space) of one tech to advance to the next one. Because the X-wing is a tech 2 fighter, you must advance to tech 3 before the EF76 updates its complement of fighters.
You do not have to upgrade units to advance you tech level.

Cheers

Edit: Just noticed that my fighter complement did not change. My Nebulon-Bs still spit out Z-95s.

so if you upgrade your units the fighter compliments go up in level, tech level means better fighter types, not that that matters as the empire, as after tech 3 you have everything your're going to get from your ships fighter wise.
