Interesting map, probably too open. My suggestion is throw some random strategically placed props(covered wagon, etc) in the open valley area to break up lines of sight some and provide cover.

Also, you didn't use any clip brushes at all, traditionally people prefer if you clip brush stairs to make them flow as ramps.

Also some of the displacement areas you are meant to walk on are too steep, in Hammer editor there is a button near the top right of the button toolbar that will display an overlay on displacements allowing you to see what angles are too steep to walk on. Might I also suggest increasing the displacement Power value. It looks like you are using the default(3) which is generally ok but a lot of your terrain has large height changes so as a result using a power value of 3 means your displacements look blocky, using something higher will fix that and allow you to create more natural terrain(where needed).

Going back to the clip brushes thing, you can leave the map, altho not very far before you run into the TOOLSSKY texture and the 3dskybox line, but as a result you can get places that, um, with a sharps would be pretty crazy. Here's some screen shots, I got here by walking. You can also get on top of the damn as well as behind it(and get stuck there).

OMG, I'm so sorry that I didn't see this earlier!!
I will try to make it not as open, I'll fix the walkable and unwalkable areas (do you think I need to do the smoothing for the 3d skybox geometry?). and of course making brush ramps too!
If there is anything else, let me know!
I'm also looking for new map ideas, so all thoughts welcome!!!
(DISCLAIMER: will not make all suggestions.)

Do you think some breakable watch towers, not very big ones, would help with the openess.

I can look into it! That would be pretty cool!! But, it may not be excepted by the workshop of FoF...
The FoF workshop only allows mods that wouldn't make an advantage in-game, like glowing skins.
I'll give it a shot.

Here are the rules.
1. content should fit the game and age.
2. did you created the provided content or do you have permission to use it? we don't want to infringe someone's copyright
3. no gameplay advantage should be obtained from your mod, for instance glowing skins
4. no memes
5. lacks proper description or misleading

You can do this in your won server, maybe even your own map with the point_servercommand entity.
Here are the commands that you put into the console.
Note: if the console doesn't open when you press ~ key. Go into Options, advanced, then check enable developer console.
OK! back to it!
enter the console, then type or copy and past sv_cheats 1,
then press [ENTER], next type thirperson, then press [ENTER].
This is only possible in your own server, or map, and is limited.

No really dynamic aiming animations.
And the crosshair is really close the the head and shoulder, making it hard to aim.


I may try making a map where you are having to fight in thirdperson.

Actually, I just tried in a super simple map.
It did go in thirdperson without needing cheats enabled, but the bullet hit about two or three in-game feet under the crosshair.
It worked better when you just did it in the cheats console.
I'm sorry this didn't work, the game just won't support thirdperson...

The map is done, it works ok, but it works best for malee.
