Incorrect dust effect for some terrain types [vanilla bug?]
@Railgun Noticed a vanilla bug while admiring your mod's effects, wondering if you can confirm or comment. I've only had WH2 for a couple of weeks, but have long familiarity with warscape modding.

The entity footstep effect for snow is active on some incorrect terrain types... rock, road, grass, etc. It plays for entity idle animations, and also overrides the intended dust effect during unit movement animations. In other words, there's a lot of obvious white dust and debris instead of the intended grey/brown/whatever.

This occurs with a clean setup, as well as with your mod.

I investigated by inserting an edited version of "wh_main_terrain_entity_move_small_snow" into your mod, and disabling the emitter stops it for related "small" models on the terrain in question. So it would seem there's an incorrect reference happening somewhere, either in the DB, the game engine ,or perhaps in map data. Battle_entity_effects looks correct to me in both in your mod and vanilla.

Any ideas? And more importantly, do you see the same thing?

Sorry for the late reply I didn't see your thread.
Yes I have the same issues, I tried to fix it on my side but without success, that concern many effects like impacts, dust, etc. Everything that depend of type of grounds.

For me it's due to how maps are created. After some try to fix that, I decided to took a look into the battle maps editor, you can see how the different grounds / weather are managed and it seems so painfull to fix, maybe impossible. I clearly not enough experiences with that, so if someone find pathes and want help me or make a fix, it would be very interresting.

Thanks Railgun, I figured it might be a difficult task if it was indeed a problem with individual map data and the terrain layout. I'll take a look in the editor to get a better idea.
