Game crashes when switching maps in L4D1 campaigns
So this "issue" has been plaguing me for years, but I finally found why it happens.

If you use this mod in multiplayer in Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns, the game will crash the host on map transition. This happens because normally when the host spawns in first, the other players will be temporarily replaced with "IDLE" bots until they join in and take over the bot. But with this mod, the sb_transition cvar is set to 0, they will be replaced with T-posing floating models of the survivor instead. And in Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns, this causes a crash because their model placeholders aren't precached.

The mod sets the "sb_transition" cvar to 0. This should be set to 1 to avoid this issue.

If you don't want to do that for some reason, could you alternatively make a L4D1 campaign compatible version with this cvar set to 1?

There's also the "precache_all_survivors" cvar, maybe that could help?

No, I edited the mod with a VPK extractor and packer instead and did it myself.

It should be working now. I'm trying the precache_all_survivors method. The reason I set sb_transition to 0 is because several people complained that bots would start playing the map before any players connected after a map change since bot-only games are allowed with this mod.

In the future it is best to post in the comments section to at least let the mod author know you made a forum post. Mod authors can opt-in to get notifications for new comments, but we cannot get notifications for forum posts. So I didn't see this post until just yesterday.

I did make a comment on the mod explaining this (and even referring to this forum post), though it might have been on the Advanced version.

For some reason Steam automatically opted me out of notifications for the advanced version at some point and I didn't realize it until I went to update it for the Last Stand update. Sorry I missed your message then. I hope the issue is fixed now though.

precache_all_survivors is no longer usable in multiplayer as it's considered a cheat, FYI.

Pretty sure it can still be set to 1 by default with mods, without cheats.

If that doesn't work it would be a shame, though SourceMod should still allow setting it.

It appears switching on the fly is what's disabled. You can still set it with +precache_all_survivors 1 or 0 in launch options
