1: Did you add "Override materials" before going to the Element viewer?
2: When you added the "String", Did you type "$Iris"? (Common problem here is that you type "$basetexture" or forget the "$"
3: Did you use the correct pathway?

when applying the texture it would turn the whole model into an error sign

@BannanaBusBoat
Then you must have done something horribly wrong.
Check the front page for this workshop article and you will find a video
on how to do this!

Can you describe the process from start to the end how you do it?

How do you write the partway to the file?
sounds like you got something wrong there.

So you type in the following...
"models\n92\eyes\(texture name)"?

or something else?
Hikikuri 23. maj 2021 kl. 19:03
yes that

Do you use "$iris" or "$basetexture" for the string?

Also, which model do you try to do this on?
Hikikuri 25. maj 2021 kl. 4:32
$iris and the scout and sniper hwm models

Then I'm sadly not available to help you here.

So the last thing I will ask is the following.
How do you do "EXACTLY" do when you try to apply the skin?

So from the moment you load SFM and then load the model.
From there, what do you do step by step?
Hikikuri 26. maj 2021 kl. 19:02
Add override materials
Put in the string $iris
Put the file path and name
And then done
