here are some things you could add:
1. denser, more tropical vegetation: this map DOES say tropical, but all i see are a couple of power lines and pine trees. it feels more like northern USA to me.
2. a nice tribal-looking hut or two wouldn't hurt.
3. river should be more windy. it may be more difficult to do ( i don't know) but it will really add to the realism and appeal of the map.
