Lighting and temperature?
Is there a research that let's me cool and light areas? If so which?

In base Rimworld there is Passive cooler research and Electricity research to unlock lamps and coolers. You also start with torches.
The mod does not add any research that lets you cool or light areas, but it does provide spells such as Snap Freeze (or something like that) which cools a target area. There are also spells that create light that you can research with the scribing branch
