I might be doing it wrong but when I try to attch the cape to merasmus, the cape get's disfigured. Same if I attached Merasmus to the cape.

You need to attach the cape to merasmus and make sure you zero it in. I’ll check if this is also problem, but generally that is the protocol to follow.

You must link the correct bones and then zero ONLY those bones and not the whole model and you'll be good to go

That would be really great because I'm currently working on a video that uses this model of merasmus.
