How to unlock saddles?

I found that to unlock the boss saddles you have to defeat the named versions and they will give you the engram to craft it as well as a saddle itself. I beat lystrix and both times got a broodmother saddle and the engram unlocked the first time. I hope this helps because I've been seeing a lot of saddle questions

i killed dragowyvern multiple times but dint get any saddle unlocked . am i defeating the wrong boss ?

You need to kill the Mega Versions. To get the Engram for Dodowyvern-Saddles, you need to kill Vulthuryol, the Mega Dodowyvern. For the Dragon/DragonWyvern Saddle you need Alduin, The Mega Dragon. The Warden Bosses Probably also work, but they are rare to spawn.
