having same issue, just added to existing game and prisoners not going through unlocked door

Current workaround: Get prison labor mod (same author) and set no work tasks, recreation full day as assigned work, presto. They use doors, use common areas, etc. Only thing they have problems with is food restrictions.

Thanks Angela, will try that out to. Saw this in some of my saves, but though they simply was stopped by doors whatever. Good to know, and well worth the trial.

With this apparently being intended 1.1 behavior, will we at least get an option in this mod to enable prisoners leaving their cells again? A workaround with another mod is fine and all but I don't really want prison labor so much as I want to just have a fenced-off yard.

I guess I'm having the same issue? It only started recently, oddly enough. My prisoners are nearly starving themselves, even though I have unlocked doors between them and food. Earlier today, it wasn't an issue whatsoever. It's almost like me making the doors unlocked somehow broke them. They can go through the doors, as I've seen them do, and I do have Prison Labor, so maybe that is helping somehow?

anyone use 'colony manger' or 'common sense' mod? I just fixed this problem disabled both.

Same here. I've tried "Prison Labor". While it was a neat concept, it wasn't for me. This mod, on the other hand, is exactly what I want for my prison, so it's a shame if I can't work it without getting the other.
To clarify, I set inner prison doors to "unlock" completely, but prisoners do not pass through them, even when left open. I also tried putting another prisoner bed in the common area outside their cells, so it is recognized as another "prisoner area". No dice.

Yeah can confirm that prisoners will still stay in their rooms even with doors unlocked and set to open they wont go outside to even get food they end up going starving... sad i guess the only reason why I download this mod is not working guess ill turn it off til this issue is fixed

Either remove the description that prisoners can go out with this mod or add a new text "requires prison labor" to work cause its very misleading now since this issue is still was still not fixed since 1.1

Prisoners being able to leave their cells is a function of Prison Labor mod and not Locks. I know it's strange but that's the way it is at present. So to fix this add Prison Labor.

This mod allow prisoners to exit their cell. However in vanilla rimworld they just wander around their cell. So prisoners stays in their cell because they have nothing to do. What do you have in your common area?
