Stone Trolls are overpowered
As everyone probably knows, in vanilla all trolls regenerate health at the base level of 4hp/s. However, in SFO, they regenerate at a much faster rate of 10hp/s. Before the Warden and the Paunch dlc, this was honestly fine. Normal Trolls are pretty bad, so giving them a boost is understandable. However, vanilla Stone Trolls are not bad by any means, being far more armoured, having better leadership and weapon stength made them good. But they still also regen 10hp/s in SFO. What does this mean exactly? Well I'm playing a VH/H Karl Franz campaign with only SFO on as a mod,and I just lost Eilhart to a 4 unit army from the Skullcrusherz. Those four units were: an orc warboss, goblins, goblin archers, and stone trolls. Eilhart had am 8 unit garrison: 3 swords, 3 spears, and 2 crossbows. I had my crossbows empty their entire quivers into the trolls while all of my spears were surrounding them. Not a single troll died. without halberdiers and handgunners, they become almost unstoppable. This is at a point where I could maybe have halberds and guns by now, if I was unhindered in progress up to now. Stone Trolls+Stupidity(the buff, not an insult towards the sfo team)+10hp/s regen= a broken unit. Ive played this game for multiple thousands of hours, before someone says "just get good noob" btw.

I mean all the units you're using to fight htem with in this scenario are garbage. It seems about right. Any monster unit will pick off the models easy peasy, halbrediers could easily outdps their regen, and gunpowder units would tear them in half.

Granted they are strong I must certainly agree with you on that, just not sure I can comfortably throw down the OP card.

Some units are just a straight up check to crappy unspecialized units, stone trolls are just the latest addition to that roster.

Even normal trolls are pretty strong now. They were my biggest problem at the beginning on my Dwarf campaign. I had three units of Dwarf Ballistas shoot at one unit of Trolls for a minute and they only managed to deal like 20% HP damage.

idk. yes, if I had halbs or guns, it'd be an easy clap enough, but it was a garrison. but still. 3 spears and 2 crossbows all at the same time and not one died. They actually had two stone troll units previously, but they lost one in ubersreik. it took the bloody ubersreik 6(have an extra captain in garrison) to kill a unit of stone trolls

a heavily armoured tier 3 unit (potentially with melee buffs depending on difficulty and lord skills) taking out multiple tier one units that have low AP? makes sense to me

In my campaign with Karl Franz I have to specialise my armies with stone trolls in mind, as the skull smashers have atleast 2 units of them in each army. This is fine, however I would just like to point out that, along with their 10 hp/s they get a 20% physical resistance modifier. They already have 25% missle resistance, which for me is just overkill. As a side note; halberdiers can hold stone trolls back for me, but they don't do f*ck all damage the only way I can conceive halberdiers beating stone trolls is by breaking them by morale. Basically: handgunners are your best friend, though to be honest 1 HG firing at a 1 ST would still find it difficult to melt it quickly enough to not suffer major meat shield losses. Remember on large unit scale they have 12,000+ health.

I did a custom battle with Skarsnick(every item enabled) commanding 5 normal trolls against 1 general of the Empire, 8 halbediers(3 of which were the regiment of renown version or state troop), 1 great cannon, 1 hellblaster volley gun and 1 luminark thing. The AI placed their artillery upfront, so the cannon and volleygun were eliminated early. Overall, I won with each unit of trolls having sustained some losses - though they were below half health in battle. The luminark accumulated 10 kills by the end of it. If I controlled the empire forces, then yes, it would have been a win; but halberdiers should be able handle the trolls effectively when they outnumber them - unit wise - with some ranged support in my opinion.

This mod is a joke. I just conquered the entire old world with a handful of these guys. Nothing can kill them in any sort of time frame that makes sense.

I was ganna let this pass but then I saw your comment on the main page and my eyes rolled so far in the back of my skull I'm now medically blind.

Any elite unit in even a semidecent army comp can do the exact same thing; Beating legendary AI is babytown frolics and hasn't been genuinely difficult since early vanilla WH1, so saying you whacked them with stone trolls doesn't say much.

Pull them in customs against someone who isn't a potatoe or in a head to head and then you'll have my attention. Only fools deal in absolutes though and maybe you're right(though I tend to doubt it) so if you need someone to test them against I'm game.
