Winter 1940 playing as GE,
I have lost the Saar (with westwall 2nd level)

Is it normal that French divisions have 80-170 of DEFENSE VS my GERMANY divisions have 17-25 in defence value ?

The allied value (defence value of 170 in 1940) is a IA BUFF ?


The allied attack value seem normal 23 for ARM 8 for INF,

but allied defence value is STELLAR (!!!) 170 for ARM and 90 for INF in March 1940 !

I, on the contrary, believe that the Allies are too weak. On the BLACK ICE difficulty, I conquer the French within a month. However, I didn't use any enhancements for the AI. I would like to learn more about what you are doing. Perhaps your save file from 1940...

In my last 5 games as Germany, I have lost in 1940 in France and Norway.
(I play at this game from 2000 with HOI ... HOI2 ... HOI 3 etc).

The problema is that IA Allied create too many divisions (only in Norway are generally 15-20) and too much strong (better say with ORG too high)

I should take SEDAN within 4-5 days starting the offensive in 10/10/1940 ... but I lose 20 days or more to arrive in SEDAN and than all allied army close the bulge as in 1944-45.

Historical GER wins for a higher ORG (French was disorganizates) and better Strategiic and Tatics ... but in games allied 1940 division have ORG very high. (Itried to reserch all WW2 techiques until 1940: land, atack and defence doctines but allied division are (at minimum) are so strong as my divisions.

(In my last 3 games with TEST ICE version I don't receve any Checoslovaquian tanks for bug, so my inferiority was more marked; but this apart, the GER ORG ou Allied ORG is the true problem)

Is the game even working since the DLC releases?

I suspect that the problems, it is not with BICE version but any change in vanilla game that afected BICE of course, because I have played one time with vanilla last week and as BICE I have lost in France in 1940 ... (normal game, no buff)

... if that is true this thread shouldn't exit ... NO BICE FAULT

of course I played at BICE yesterday with a strong buff in construction (all 4 tiers) and I have a normal game winning in France and Norway in 1940

One problem of vanilla, reported in many threads of Paradox forum is that the game IA have no capacity of use options (tatics, rules, war tricks etc), it is programmed to create more and more divisions to compensate for the inability, so if the GER it is not full power, no way to win many allied forced.

(That's why my game "with construction buff" went so smoothly)
